Shine the light on The Road Ahead

March is Seniors Festival month, and we're sharing advice and tips to help older and vulnerable individuals stay independent and safe on our roads. We remind carers and family members to have important conversations about how aging may be affecting their loved ones' driving.

The Road Ahead: Supporting our older and vulnerable road users

Aligning with the NSW Seniors Festival this March, we're reminding older and vulnerable road users to check in on changes to their health that could affect their safety when they travel.

We've developed initiatives to promote independence for older road users, whilst ensuring safety is a top priority.

The Road Ahead guideprovides advice and safety tips to help older people in our community to make safer choices when driving, riding, walking, using a mobility scooter or catching public transport.

We’ve also partnered with the University of Wollongong to create the Driving and staying independent: A decision aid for older drivers resource to help empower older adults to make informed decisions.

The Road Ahead: Older Road Users - Communications toolkit provides key messages, assets and imagery to support your communication initiatives.
