Help your community understand the rules for e-bikes and e-scooters
With an increase in e-mobility devices on our roads, it's important for riders and drivers to be educated on the rules to keep themselves and others safe. The e-micromobility communications toolkit provides key messages, assets and imagery to educate riders and drivers on road safety and know the rules around using e-bikes and e-scooters.
Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll find in the toolkit to support your communications:
- Key messages:
- E-bike riders must comply with the same road uses as bicycles.
- There are two types of approved e-bikes in NSW: power-assisted pedal cycles and electrically power-assisted cycles.
- Petrol-powered bicycles are illegal on NSW roads and road-related areas.
- Private e-scooters remain illegal to ride on NSW roads and road-related areas, including footpaths, shared paths and bicycle lanes.
- Ready-to-use assets: Social media posts, print and digital collateral.
- Step-by-step guides: Detailed instructions on how to order assets or use the Creative Asset Library.
